Réseau Médicaments et Développement

Sustainable development in healthcare, through improvements in the availabilty, the accessiblity, the quality and the proper usage of prescription medications.
What is ReMeD?
Since 1993, ReMeD (the Network for Medicine and Development) has been committed to research and action on problems existing in the field of prescription medications and public health in developing countries.
We work for:
-quality medication getting to those who need it most.
-ending prescription medication donations to developing countries because they are ill-adapted to the needs of the population.
-the improvement of healthcare systems in developing countries.
-sustainable development and support for local institutions and solutions.

Why?
In developing countries, every 30 seconds, a child dies of malaria, and the drugs are available to cure the disease within three days. At the same time, in the same country, the medication that could be used to treat that child is being destroyed because it was not used before it expired. Availability is important, accessibility is a necessity.

Who are we?

    • an association of international solidarity working for better access to quality medications in developing countries
    • a network of over 2000 healthcare professionals, from various backgrounds and geographical locations
    • an administrative team based in Paris
